Summary: Purchase a video conferencing system to access remote sign language interpreters; Employ a Disability Resource Specialist for marketing and outreach to the hearing and visually impaired communities and service organizations, identifying technology programs and strategies to improve services, developing tracking, data collection and customer satisfaction tools; and building stronger relationships with the business community; Contract the services of an American Sign Language Interpreter; and Ensure reasonable accommodation for the Disability Resource Specialist who is blind.

Summary: Collaborate to survey the Roseville One-Stop for accessibility gaps, and assure all materials are fully accessible to persons who are hearing impaired; Train and prepare staff working at the center on the psycho-social, cultural, employment, legal and technological issues relating to the hearing impaired; Employ an on-site deaf services specialist to provide services and act as the primary contact person with management, community partners and resources; and Establish guidelines and strategies for replication in all of Golden Sierra’s One-Stop Career Centers.

Summary: Build upon the discoveries of the Disability Navigator Program and increase effectiveness in serving the hearing and visually impaired through expanded auxiliary aids; Incorporate the transition of older youth programs into available services at the One-Stop Career Centers; Provide easier access to mainstream services and educate employers on hiring individuals with disabilities; Provide interpreters and notetakers for customers; Build the infrastructure, train staff and create marketing materials for the target population and educate employers about hiring those with disabilities; Connect with the disability community through RecruitABILITY, and the Department of Labor’s Job Accommodations Network; and Track and increase the number of disabled people served through the One-Stop Career Center System.
